How can i be saved?
The Simple Path to Salvation: Unpacking Romans 10
Most of us instinctively feel we need "saving"—from our mistakes, our past, or a sense of brokenness. But how does it actually work? In Romans 10:4–13, the Apostle Paul provides a clear, three-part roadmap.
1. Christ is the Fulfillment
Paul begins by declaring, “Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes” (Romans 10:4).
For centuries, people tried to earn "goodness" by keeping religious rules perfectly. But as Romans 3:23 reminds us, none of us can meet God’s perfect standard. Jesus did what we couldn't: He lived a sinless life and took our punishment on the cross. Salvation isn’t about what you do; it’s about what He has already done.
2. The Simplicity of Faith
You don’t need a degree or a perfect track record to reach God. Paul makes it beautifully simple:
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
This involves two things:
Heart Belief: Trusting that Jesus’ resurrection is enough to save you.
Mouth Confession: Acknowledging His authority over your life.
3. Salvation is for Everyone
One of the most freeing truths in Scripture is that this gift isn't exclusive. Paul writes, “There is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all” (Romans 10:12).
It doesn’t matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done. As Joel 2:32 promises: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Everyone. That includes you.
How to Respond
"Calling on the Lord" isn’t a ritual; it’s a sincere heart-cry for help. If you're ready to take that step, you can use this simple prayer as a guide:
“Jesus, I admit I need Your forgiveness. I believe You died for me and rose again. I confess You as my Lord. Thank You for making me new.”
